Anraj Dam is located 12 kilometers south of Garhwa district headquarters, on National Highway 343. This dam is about 1 kilometer long and 28 meters high, which irrigates thousands of acres of land in the Gowal region. Its water irrigates the fields of 30 villages, due to which it is counted among the important irrigation schemes of the district. It was inaugurated by former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in 1982. Anraj Dam is famous for its greenery, mountains, and exotic birds, which tourists come from far and wide to see.
